La Vague publishes eight female poets and eight works by a female artist under a set theme twice a year in January and July.  In addition to stunning writing and art, La Vague intends to exhibit the close relationship between poetry and visual art disciplines and to show how certain themes might resonate collectively among the contributors.

Poetry Submissions:

La Vague is open for submissions through October 2013 for Issue 2:

( i ² ) :  A N T I Q U E S T explores the desire for or desire imbued in the historical object/aging possession, how something becomes precious/gains presence with time, and how it might be fashionable to affect an aged/distressed look (or use old techniques/equipment) in works of art.  This theme draws inspiration from Emily Dickinson’s poem 1068:  “Antiquest felt at Noon/When August burning low/Arise this spectral Canticle/Repose to typify.”  Or can we see it as an anti-quest?

La Vague is open for submissions in January 2014 for Issue 3:

( i ³ ) :  P I L G R I M embraces the pursuit of new terrain in various facets/milieus, i.e. psychologic, geographic, historic, ecclesiastic, allegoric, theoretic, esoteric, metagalactic, cybernetic.

Send 3-5 poems and a cover letter in a Word document (.doc)  to editor@lavaguejournal.com

Visual Art Submissions:

La Vague is not open to visual art submissions at this time.  However, if you feel your work would be a good fit for the journal, please email the editor a brief introduction.
