Alexandra Emberley is an interdisciplinary artist working in drawing, print, textile, and digital media. In 2013, she received her PhD in Culture, Language & Teaching from York University (Toronto), for her interdisciplinary practice-led inquiry of text and print-making exploring relationships between the testimonial or autobiographical object, “difficult knowledge”, “learning from,” and affect. In 2013, she also presented her MFA exhibition "Fur Stories [ you are not wild enough for me ]” an installation of print, textile work, and video. Recently, she was appointed as Assistant Professor to the School of Critical + Creative Studies and as Chair of the School of Craft + Emerging Media at ACAD (Alberta College of Art + Design) in Calgary, Alberta.
